fine evening (people of Priesthills road anyway) you would have seen a crazy
girl, head to foot in black and complete with Asylum hoodie, singing and
dancing down the road to Shania Twain ~ Man I feel like a woman !
And man did that feel good!
When I got in I decided to take my beautiful German Sheppard Sunshine for a
midnight(ish) walk.
We played on the grass underneath the stars in my silly little village, me with
one headphone in playing The Beatles and her with glowing eyes from my head
torch. The air was crisp and cool enough to see our breath but still have my sleeves
rolled up to my elbows.
Now that is friendship.
Last week (Friday to Monday) Lizzie, Mike and I took ourselves off to Frankfurt
in Germany. My first independent holiday and my first time flying! (sorry about
your hand Lizzie n_n)
The weather was amazing, blue skies the entire time!
We went for a walk Friday night, stopping at the lovely Tower restaurant before
wandering along the river Main.
Can you get any more picturesque? I think not.
On Saturday we did our typical touristy 'take pictures of anything that stays
long enough' because the city was beautiful.
We took a peddalo along the river, Liz taking pictures of 'chicky ducks' while
I peddled and me sunbathing during her go (Mike got the joys of peddling the
whole time, hehe).
We went to the top of a 200m tower and looked across the whole of Frankfurt,
Mike almost got our hotel right, he was two buildings off.
We had an amusing evening trying to decipher the German menu before the waiter
bought us an English version (we actually did quite well with our
translations!)
This was followed by cocktails, glow sticks and lots of giggling
The next morning, after having a chat with the lovely receptionist Wolfgang, we
arrived at Batschkapp for 9am! And for the first time yet, the tour bus had
beaten us!!
Being Easter Sunday there were very very few shops open so we had a nutritious
and delicious breakfast of ice lollies and Jaffa cakes.
About 1/2pm, after card playing, pizza and rice crispy cakes, Emilie and her
lovely Crumpets emerged from their bus.
Veronica came over for a chat and after squealing 'oh my god it's you!' at one
another we took some pics and let her go and get ready (returning a few times
with Captain Maggot and chalk, which Lizzie promptly decorated the floor with).
Then came the gig, and boy was it worth the hours of travelling and queuing!
Emilie was amazing as ever! Despite it being my fifth gig I still screamed myself
silly when she came out and almost cried when she played the intro to Opheliac.
Aprella was as beautiful as she always is, her pointe walking never ceases to
amaze me.
Contessa was fantastic! She did some brilliant fire tricks as well as
acrobatics in the middle of the audience!
Maggot's stilt walking was awesome and her hooping was hypnotic!
She was also thrilled that we Lizzie, Mike and I knew the lyrics to Always
look on the bright side of life and shoved the mic in our faces for the
whole second verse!
And Veronica...wow. She truly made this gig the best yet!
As well as blowing kisses to us and performing her fantastic fan dance she
picked me to come on stage and play the rat game! (see youtube, hehe)
Wow.
You know I've been dreaming about this girl!
After a speed signing we decided to lurk outside the tour bus, which resulted
in lots (and lots) more pictures with Ms Varlow!
And Lizzie finally getting her pic with EA
Except for nipping back onto the bus a few times and going to see the other
muffins Veronica was lovely enough to stay and chat to us until 1am, Aprella
and her video camera joining us for a conversation about flying...
Then, being utterly exhausted and unable to speak German, Carsten (the lovely
Asylum Warden) ordered us a taxi and we went back to our hotel to collapse.
[link]!
After a few hours sleep we got up to another beautiful morning in Frankfurt.
We checked out of the hotel, abandoned our luggage and walked back down to the
river before realising it was far too hot to do anything except sit outside the
Tower restaurant in the shade and drink 1.5l of coke each!
Mike also got more than a healthy dose of football (manly, grr).
We grabbed our bags and got the 2hr coach to Frankfurt Hahn airport for our midnight
flight (yippee) arriving at London Stanstead at 23.40 GMT.
We got to our hostel about 2.30 and were thrilled to find our dorm was empty!
We collapsed in our bunks only to be woken at 8.00 by a man digging up the road.
No rest for the wicked
Now I have all of my Easter work to finish before sixth form starts again
Monday, yippee!
